Faith

Her mouth quivers.
Her body tremors.
Her eyes
Are aglow
As she lets go.


Her hands raise
In praise.
Her lips move
As the Holy Ghost moves.
She speaks
In a tongue
Not capable
Of everyone.

She starts
To shout,
Bending her knees,
Swinging her arms,
Leaping
Up
And down ...
Moving
All
About.

The pastor touches her ...
Then
Anoints her head
With oil.

"LET THE LORD
HAVE HIS WAY,
SISTER,"
He says. "LET IT ALL OUT!"

The Holy Ghost letting her go,
She collapses
To the flo'.

Deacons rush forward,
Carrying her away,
Carrying away the SANCTIFIED WOMAN,
Who magnifies God's name
Every
Waking
Day!
