Through the silent night I walk,
with only the moon's light to guide me.
I can hear the cricket's lonesome calls,
and it touches something deep down inside me.

The many stars, a brilliant glow,
Oh Lord, what a beautiful sight.
Thoughts of the day, they fill my head,
as I wander through the night.

The moon is like my God,
who gently guides my way.
Showing me right where I shall step,
kindly telling me the words I should say.

He has granted me this gift of words,
for that I am ever thankful to him.
I will do my best to make them all count,
to brighten a world that's gone dim.
