Today's a brand new day
and the sun is shining bright.
This day was made to start anew
a chance to do things right.

Instead of wasting the day
doing things that matter little.
I'll reach outside this circle of mine
instead of staying in the middle.

I'll touch the heart of someone new
I'll make another smile.
I'll bring some joy and laughter
to this tired world for a while.

I'll help someone who needs a friend.
I'll find a heart that needs to mend.
I'll do my best until the very end.
To make my life worthwhile.

Today's a brand new day
and it's gloomy outside my door.
But the sun is shining here in my heart.
Be sad? Heck no! What for?

I can visit my elderly neighbor
who sits at home all alone.
To brighten the world
of a friend who's been sad
I'll call her on the phone.

I'll show my children how to love
and how to share it too.
Don't leave it up to someone else
it's up to me and you.

There is so much Lord, to be done.
Behind the clouds is still the sun.
So let’s not worry let‘s help someone.
Let's make our lives worthwhile.

Who says we can't make a difference.
That we can't show the world how to love.
That we can't bring joy into someone's life
and make God smile from above.
