I am a man rejected of God,
I can’t worship in His house;
With withered arm, Him I would laud
But by the Law, this hope is doused;

One Sabbath day, I went to synagogue,
That I’d find the Lord’s light;
Not only did I find my God,
But also found His loving might;

There was a Man, who healed many,
Doing the works of the Lord;
He saw me, called to me,
This rejected one He adored;

He said to me, “Step forward,”
And, “Stretch out your hand,”
I heard this from the Lord;
He spoke with majestic command;

With hesitation, to show my deformity;
Many gasped at my handicap;
It was hard to have this Jesus look at me,
But I was soon released from my trap;

I brought my hand to my face;
Seeing it as whole as the other;
I saw, first hand, my God’s grace,
Found in this Jewish brother;

Once shunned by Moses’ Law,
I was accepted by the Beloved;
I was taken from the Curse’s jaws,
Once thinking I was unloved;

Like my hand, my hope was withered,
I saw myself lost in His sight;
But through this Jesus, my life is tethered;
Restored by this Son’s might;

Soon, one day, to my surprise,
They would nail His most strong hands,
On the cross, to die, only to rise;
Seated at our God’s right, His law alone stands.
