The eminent scholar;
Pharisee of Pharisees;
Knocked off his steed;
Blinded; found release;

His plans were for the glory;
Esteeming the Patriarchs;
But Jesus had another plan,
To release him from the dark;

Traditions almost beset him,
With the truth so close at hand;
His aim: to uphold what he knew;
Instead, saw the Son of Man;

Thereafter, he saw the light,
As the scales fell off;
He soon proclaimed as Christ,
This Jesus he had scoffed;

He must have seen the Law
Could only show the way;
It had no power for his life;
So, from it, he walked away;

He said he left what he esteemed;
He forsook his station;
To know his Lord more deeply;
Author of his salvation;

Paul walked away
From what seemed so good,
That he would find the Best,
At one time nailed to wood.
