As I kneel down to pray, my heart seems far away-
lost and lonely, somewhere in the passions of this world.
It all seemed great at first and I thought I was happy.
But as days passed, I realized that it all
was just for the moment.
I went out in search of that peace, that joy, that
everlasting love that would set me free.
Over the mountains and across the seas-
I screamed out loud... "LORD, SET ME FREE!"
My sins were too many to count,
I knew I would be punished.
I was filled with guilt and shame.
I couldn't pray.
Then, I saw an angel who led me to the cross
Jesus was tied to, tired and lonely.
Placing in my hands a hammer and three nails,
he looked into my eyes and said,
"Nail Him."
"I can't do that!!! How can I???"
"It will not hurt him as much as your sins did. I promise"
said the angel with tears in his eyes.
"Do it!"
I took the nails and hammered them into the flesh of Christ.
At each blow, He cried out in pain as the blood spurted out.
He tried to bear in silence, but the pain was too much to conceal.
I crowned Him with thorns and pierced His heart.
In the end he said,"Forgive her Lord"...and died.
As His dead body was lowered from The Cross and placed on the lap of His Mother,
She cried out in agony hugging Her beloved Son's lifeless body.
I picked up the blood stained nails
and holding them close to my heart
whispered...
"I'm sorry Jesus. I promise never to sin again."
"Go now. You have been set free"...said the angel.
"He has paid the price for your sins."
"And what do I do now?"...I asked.
The angel smiled,"Bring the others here, and give them these....the nails that will set them free."
