It is no way to live,
Always looking over my shoulder,
While memories of you smolder,
From the pain and hurt only you know how to give

Taking me years to learn to love again,
Finding out love is not like the pain
In which being with you I had to endure.
Is there a end to the memories? Is there a cure?

You tried to silence me.
You tried to keep me from what I could be.
It was why I left you.
I wanted you to feel the pain that no one knew.

I told my lies to protect what you did to me,
Yet now you cant silence me.
The bruises may be gone,
Yet your memories and the fear, they linger on.

Always looking over my shoulder,
While the memories of you smolder.
Rising up to the sky.
All that’s left are the memories of your lie.

Yet I live in a promise of a day,
When I can have the day to say,
What you did to me,
Because now, I am free.

You knew my ex husband? :::smile::: Kidding, but I can definitely relate. Confession -- "The Spirit of the Lord reigns in me. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is forgiveness AND freedom." I may not always feel it, but I live by faith, not by sight. I will confess it with every breath. Bless you, Sister. Keep your chin up... a shower of blessings on their way to you. Of that, I am certain.

I choose to walk in freedom and trust the Lord for today. Keep proclaiming FREEDOM! You are a Daughter of the King, dressed in fine robes of royalty. NEVER forget that, Sis. May His blessings and power pour over you.
