Do you Tithe as an obligation of Law OR Do you Tithe cheerfully??


For the Glory of Our Lord & Saviour Christ Jesus, I hereby share with you the revelations that the Lord God Almighty revealed about the Tithing, while I was reading the scriptures regarding the same. I pray to the Lord God Almighty that this articel will help each one us to understand the wonderful and true purpose of the Lord God Almighty behind Tithing.


:-Facts about Tithing:-

The first and foremost information regarding Tithing we find, is in Genesis Chapter 14 verses 20-21. As you will read this verses you will amazed to know the true fact of How tithing begun. This what Lord revealed while I was reading the scriptures:-

1) Lord Almighty did not ask Abram to Tithe but it was Abram who gave willingly- offered willingly the tenth of everything to Melchizedek King of Salem, who was preist of God Most High, when he blessed Abram, Saying;

"Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who delievered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything. So the Lord did not force, neither Melchizedek asked Abram to give his tenth of everything, but it was Abram who willingly and cheerfully offered his tithe to the Lord God Almighty.

2) Tithing is promised giving the Lord back of all the tenth of the blessings that Lord has given unto us- As for example what Jacob did- He made of vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father's house, then the Lord will be my God and the stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth." (Genesis 28: 20-22)

3) Tithing when introduced as Law by the Lord God Almighty, it's sole purpose was to give Levites their inheritance in return for the work they did while serving at the Tent of Meeting; as the Tribe of Levites did not get any land but God himself was their share & inheritance. (Numbers 18:20)

4) Tithing was introduced as law for the Israelites so that the Levites, Aliens, the Fatherless and the Widows who lived in towns may come and be satisfied and so that the Lord our God may bless you is all the works of your hand. (Det. 14)

5) Tithing became blessing for Israel on when people responded it positively and when people brought generously all the first-fruits of their grian, new wine, oil and honey and all that the field produced, even they brought tenth of their herds and flocks. (2 Chronicels 30:19)

6) Tithing is an act of Honour & Worship towards the Lord God Almighty, for the blessings that He has given unto us.

7) Tithing gives us opportunity to remember our Lord's Love, Mercy and compassion towards us.

8) Tithing was not intorudced by the Lord God Almighty as an act of Complusion but as an actof Love, Mercy ,Compassion and generosity towards the fellow Israelites, aliens, widows,fatherless and as community on whole.

9) Tithing demonstrates Obidience, discipline and discipleship of the Lord's people towards Our Lord God Almighty and towards the society.

10) Tithing when done in generosity results in thanks-giving to God.

11) Tithing opens up windows of heaven and pours out blessings of the Lord God Almighty- Blessing that there shall not be room enough to recieve it. (Malachi 3:10)

12) Tithing when done generously promotes love, brotherhood and social welfare.


Beloved one's of God, when you tithe do not tithe as an act of Compulsion or as if you are bound by Law to do so and so you must tithe, rather hereafter when you Tithe, do it cheerfully and give willingly, for the Lord Loves Cheerful giver. For Bible says in 2 Coronthians 9,"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Friend's remember that we are not under Law but we are under the Grace of the God, for the word of God in Galatians 4 declares," But when the right time finally came, God sent his own Son. He came as the Son of a human mother and lived under the Jewish Law, to redeem those who were under the Law, so that we might become God's Son's." In the same way in Hebrews 7 it says that, "The old, rule, then is set aside, because it was weak and useless. For the Law of Moses could not make anyhting perfect. And now a better hope has been provided through which we come near to God." Furhturemore in Hebrews 9 it declares that," But Christ has already come as the High Priest of of the good things that are already here."

Friend's in Christ Jesus the Law has been fulfilled and so now if any preacher preaches you or try to force you to give the Tithings as the Old Testament Law required then that preacher is preaching wrong, for Bible clearly says that, "We are not under Law, but under the Grace of God." And so I encourage you to Tithe even more but not as the fulfillment of Law or out of obligation towards the Law or an act of compulsion or of reluctant giving, but I encourage you to Tithe as the New Testament teaches us, to give cheerfully, not under any complusion or as an act of reluctant giving.!!!

Remember friend, Tithing is not an act of Compulsion but it is act of Love, Compassion; an act of Honouring, Glorifying and remembering our Lord God Almighty- The God who has blesses us with ability to produce wealth and so confirms his covenant which He swore to our forefathers, as it is today." ( Det. 8:18)

Beloved people of God, now when you will Tithe not any under any pressure or any compulsion, or an act of fulfilling the Law, your hearts will rejoice in God Almighty, for now Lord has revealed unto us His true and great purpose of Tithing which He intorduced to us. May God bless you and as you give Him cheerfully, may He bless you with more ability to produce more and through His Holy Spirit encourage you to Tithe more and more, so that through generous giving thanks- offerings are brought on the altar of the Lord God Almighty.

Remember the promise of Christ Jesus as you sow a seed of faith, "Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
