MEDITATION


Be still, my mind.
Float upon calm waters like a lily-pad, scarcely moving,
Neither resisting nor avoiding.

Be tranquil.
Pose no questions, seek no answers.
Between the unfelt, inhaled breath is what you seek.

Rest on cradling seas.
In gaps between gathering clouds of time
Let lasting moments shine.

"Let lasting moments shine". Those words in the last stanza of your husband's poem echo your review of my article "Inspiration" for which I set out to thank you, but paused a while to read this lovely, philosophical poem, How you must miss those lovely moments you shared with the writer of such rich thoughts. Looking forward to seeing some of your own writing.

Welcome, Irene! How my heart goes out to you in the loss of your precious husband. From the depth of this poem, it's clear he left a wonderful legacy. The flowing words let the reader taste the divine serenity in those moments with God that plunge deep beyond words. Now that you've joined FW, I pray that you, also, may find the inspiration and confidence to pick up your pen. Surely you have your own stories begging to be told; and likely your husband is cheering you on from the balconies of heaven.
