Life

Some say life is what you make it.
How can this be true?
When in fact most try to fake it,
While inside, they’re feeling blue.

Living a life of faction
Feeling as though they’re lost.
Caught up in every distraction,
Failing to count the cost.

Living their lives for number one.
Building around me, myself and I.
Appearing as if they’re having fun,
Only reaching for that pie in the sky.

A life of selfishness leads to a dead end,
For what you want in life, give it to others.
Look to Jesus to find a true friend,
Giving up His life to become your brother.

Jesus died to give you life anew,
Giving His life met what God would require.
Doing likewise you’ll find life that is new.
Give your life to Him to get this real life you desire.
