Without the cross, there will be no plus,
but negatives, and more negatives,
leading to miseries, upon miseries.
Without the cross, we cannot cross
to the Father’s side; we’ll remain aliens-
down and out in the cold and crushed.
Without the cross, it shall be a damning curse.
No cross to crush, no refinement and renewal.
No crucifixion, no resurrection.
Shun the cross and you’ll have a great loss.
Shun the cross and there shall be no just.
No cross, no healing by His stripes.
No cross, no justifying of many.
Without the cross, weeping will endure forever,
and joy will be lost forever and ever.
Without a cross, the world will be bankrupt, and lost forever.

Thank God for the cross, that brought the plus,
paid the great price, removed the stain of sin,
made us clean and erased the guilty verdicts,
and punishment meant for man.

Jesus embraced the cross for us
It pleased the Father to crush Him,
Heap on Him your sin and my sin.
It pleased the Father to bruise Him
To buy and bring you and I back to base

Thank God for the cross, that heralded a new era,
a new age, a New Dawn, a new hope, a New and Living Way.
Thank God for the cross, that turned on the light,
turned the Night into Day,
and brought the power of His might.
Thank God for the cross, that birthed many children,
heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
Thank God the cross that birthed a New Song:
“On the hill far away, stood an old rugged cross.”
Through that emblem of suffering and shame
God, the Father, gave Him a Name above every other name
He also gave you and I who came to the cross, a name.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates and let the King of glory
Come forth!
On the third day, the grave gave way, opened its mouth
and He marched out having conquered the grave.
He seats right now at the Father’s right side- mighty to save.

The cross was a must for Him and remains a must for you and I.
Without the cross, You and are without hope.
