The last few days I have seen some strange things. No, I ‘m not speaking of UFO’s or unknown phenomenon like alien crafts, etc. What I am speaking of is things happening in unordinary ways.

For instance, as my husband and I were picking a few things up from the market we saw something most people just never see. The county Sheriff bagged our groceries for us. At the grocery store near our house, the Sheriff is at post. Because we live in West Odessa, an unincorporated part of Odessa, the response time for them to come from the main town would take too long. So, they station themselves at the grocery store and perhaps out of boredom, help sack groceries.

A few hours ago, we were coming home and saw what we would call a Dingo. Yes, the kind of hunting Australian wild dog. He was running up to the main road and had come from an area where we often see coyotes. I had no idea that Dingoes lived here.

Just a few minutes ago, we were transferring some things from the garage to the storage shed on our property. We happened to look up and see a very strange looking bird on the electric wire that runs along the side of the driveway. I told Gaetan I was going to get the binoculars and get a closer look. For several weeks we have been watching the many doves, finches and a variety of birds including quail here. The last week of March brought us hummingbirds which we have been thoroughly enjoying as they drink from the feeders hanging outside the kitchen window. At a quick glance we knew this bird perched on the wire was none of the kinds of which I have just spoken.

As I ran quickly to retrieve the binoculars I came out and focused on the big bird. To my surprise it was a Macaw; a big green and white Macaw with a yellow beak and long tail. It must have gotten lose from its home.

As peculiar as some of these things may seem, I am telling you this for one reason. We are coming into the time of the year, when we as Christians celebrate Easter Sunday. To some people in the world it will seem odd and unordinary to even think that we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We have also noticed that lately there has been a surfacing of writings such as “The Judas Letter” and a book called, “Jesus, Born of Royalty.” Of course, what an appropriate time to get this stuff in the media; the time when the Church is getting ready to remember the true meaning of Easter.

I have witnessed some of these documentaries describing Judas as Jesus’ friend and that He and Judas had an agreement as to what would happen. Supposedly, this makes Judas out to not be a trader, but somewhat of a hero. And then… we have a book, claiming that the virgin birth is impossible and that Mary was pregnant by some son of an earthly royal emperor… “Tell me …who lies in bed and makes this stuff up!” And the saddest thing of all is that people believe the lies.

Gaetan was preaching on Matthew 24 last week where it says in the last days if possible, even the elect would be deceived. You see, people are drawn to the unusual, the strange happenings or mysterious events that go unexplained. What we need to realize is unless, we the church, we who know the truth, keep our eyes focused on God’s Word, we could possibly began to believe some of today’s “new revelations”.

Jesus said,

"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect." Behold, I have told you in advance. (Matthew 24: 24-25)

Think on this for moment. When people who handle money are trained to recognize counterfeit currency they are not taught by studying counterfeit money. They learn what counterfeit money is by examining the real thing. If we study the bible, the real Word of God, we will easily recognize teachings and teachers of the Word who are false. It is every Christian’s responsibility to learn, study and uphold the teachings of the bible. Problem is, this generation is dependent upon what the preacher says, and not what the Word of God says.

Check it out friends. I recently heard a pastor say that he is not a Christian, because to be called a “Christian” means that you are Christ-like, and he says he has not arrived at that. See how he twisted that word? The truth is the word Christian, means follower of Christ, or little Christ and those who follow Christ, believing He is who He says He is, are called Christians. Webster’s Dictionary says a Christian is; A religious person who believes that Jesus is the Christ and who is a member of a Christian denomination.

Unless, we the body of Christ, the church, begin to study and know and obey, the Word of God as He commands, we too may be deceived. Let me warn you…we are in the last days and the battle line is being drawn.

Matthew 25: 32 tells us that after Jesus comes in all His glory (The Second Coming) He will begin to separate the sheep from the goats. If you ask me, I believe we are living in such a time as to where we can already see that happening. I am excited to live in such a day where prophecy upon prophecy is being fulfilled and His coming is eminently nearing the time. How do I know that these prophecies are being fulfilled? Jesus says, “I have told you in advance,” remember? Don’t believe it because I say it; get in Gods’ Word yourself. You will then discover the truth that will set you free from all fallacies and all diversions that could possibly deceive you. He is coming and my heart cries out, “Even so Lord Jesus, come now!”
