Healing

Could it be that the only way to heal is through hope? Hope in our Father that He will take the load. We can lose people so many ways: divorce, or a friend moves, a romantic break-up and even death. It can knock the breath out of you. It seems like a part of us has been separated from our bodies. In a way we are. We become part of the people we love.

Some days we are just holding on to the fact that He will never give us more than we can handle. We feel like we are left dangling on the end of the rope. But if we were dropped, it would break that promise He made. It may feel like life itself is in the balance, but God hasn’t forgotten. He is waiting for you to see Him surrounded by hope. Hope that He will make life bearable again. Hope that when you are able to stand in peace again, you will be used to help someone else heal through hope.

Yes, I believe the only way to truly heal is by hope. That kind of hope that trusts and believes that the Father is the master healer. And He suffers when we suffer. His desire is not for us to desperately mourn but to find joy in Him. He doesn’t promise clear, sunny days. But he promises peace. Peace that surpasses all understanding.
