If you love Me, you will obey My commandments. Then I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever—the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept or receive Him because it does not see or know Him. But you know Him, because He resides with and in you…

The person who has and obeys My commandments is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I too will love him and will reveal Myself to him…If anyone loves Me, he will obey My Words, and My Father will love him. We will come to him and take up residence with him. The person who does not love Me does not obey My Words.

The One who Consoles—who Helps—the Counselor—the Advocate who intercedes on our behalf—the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My NAME, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you. My Peace3 I give and leave with you… The world cannot give you this peace…The ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over Me…4

Because I am going to the Father, the One who Consoles—who Helps—the Counselor—the Advocate will come to you. He, the Holy Spirit, will convict—pronounce guilty— the world

* Of sin—because they do not believe in Me

* Of righteousness—I will be shown as the Righteous One

* Of judgment—prepared for the ruler of this world, our enemy, who is condemned already
The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth—and the truth will set you free5

The Holy Spirit—the Gift of the Father—will glorify—praise and honor—Me6

Why do we keep trying to do the Holy Spirit’s work? He is the one who brings conviction. In our pride, do we think we can do it better, or in a timelier manner? Scripture says our part is two fold.

The first responsibility is to be a world class lover—love as Jesus loved. Jesus said To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind is the first and greatest commandment. The second is Love your neighbor as yourself…7 No where in Scripture do I find either an admonition or command to nag, criticize, demean, find fault, complain about, or blame and shame another person. The words we speak are to be beneficial, exhibit grace, and build up a person in need. Bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, slander, and vehement expressions of discontent allow the devil a foothold to create dissention and cause the Holy Spirit to grieve. We are rather to be kind to each other, compassionate, and forgiving, in the same way God in Christ Jesus has forgiven us.8

Secondly, if we really care for someone, we will pray for the person in need. Just as the proof of loving Jesus is to be obedient to Him, the proof of our love for another person is the willingness to pray—intercede—for him or her. In the NAME of Christ Jesus speak to those barriers—spiritual forces—which hinder this person from hearing the Holy Spirit. Command those barriers to be bound and removed; for your loved one to be strengthened in God and able to face any circumstance or problem in their life.

Now is the time for you and me to be victorious. Receive might, power and strength in the Lord.9

* Fasten the Belt of Truth around your waist, secured in the back where it cannot be removed. Christ Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life. The Holy Spirit leads us into all Truth because He is the Spirit of Truth. What you believe will shape your destiny. What you doubt will determine your fate. You are what you believe. If you believe Truth, you can be transformed and set free by Truth. Jesus prayed that His disciples would be sanctified—set apart and made pure and whole in Truth because the Father’s WORD is Truth.13 You learn Truth from the Word of God. Knowing His Word protects you from being duped by a counterfeit.

Your multipurpose warrior’s Belt of Truth:
o Supports the breastplate
o Secures the scabbard at just the right angle so the sword can be swiftly removed in battle
o Holds quiver cases which contain lances or aerial missiles
o Supports the battle shield
o Holds bread, oil, and water supplies hung from attached hooks
o Holds in place the leather skirt worn over the military tunic
Truth, from the Belt around your waist, radiates Truth upward to the top of you head and Truth downward to the soles of your feet.

As high as the skies are above the earth, His lovingkindness towers over His faithful followers. As far as the east is from the west, so He removes our transgressions from us.17 Through Christ Jesus you are Righteous. You are empowered to expect extraordinary results from your fervent prayers—because you are Righteous.!18

The Divine Provider says Don’t worry. Pursue the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these other things will be added. What things? Food. Clothing. Shelter. The Heavenly Father knows all about those needs. He wants you to ask, seek and knock in prayer, expressing your heart’s desire. He takes great pleasure in giving good gifts to His children. It is true, His gifts aren’t always what we want—our latest whim. He provides for our needs. We have His unfailing promise. He will provide.19 Express praise and thanksgiving for His promise of provision. Be content with what He has provided. Pursue what is important. As a person dedicated to God, pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness. The Kingdom of God is peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.20

Abraham is a great example. He believed and relied on the promises of the God:
o Who very literally makes the dead come alive,
o Who calls into existence things that do not yet exist, as though they already do exist.
o Who is able to deliver what He promised
This faith was credited to Abraham as Righteousness.21

o Proclaim the captives—those enslaved against their will—are released
o Set prisoners—the guilty—free from guilt and attendant penalty
o Announce—proclaim—this is the year when Jehovah will show His favor23

Combat Boots of Peace is not an oxymoron. Oh yes, even in the thick of battle, we can be at Peace. The God of Peace will quickly crush—shatter—Satan under your feet when you are grounded in the Prince of Peace—the Peace only He can give. 24

* Above all, seize your Shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. The 5’ x 2 ½’ rectangular battle shield is made of six layers of tanned woven leather attached to a wooden frame. It is as tough and durable as metal, but relatively light weight, making it easy to maneuver when attacks come from different directions. If the enemy is unsuccessful with a frontal attack, he tries other tactics.

When personal attacks fail because of the strength of your faith, he will use another person and attempt to provoke with a spirit of fear, offense, or discontent and gain a foothold. Remember the source of these attacks is not another person, but the thief who comes only to kill, steal and destroy.25 Refusing to allow a spirit of fear, offense, or discontent to
contaminate your thoughts will foil even these attacks. .

The shield can be soaked in water should the enemy resort to flaming projectiles. The fire is extinguished on contact! Soak your Shield of Faith in the Rivers of Living Water which flows from Christ Jesus, and the fiery arrows thrown by the enemy are extinguished.26

Shields of Faith can also be attached together with other believers to form impenetrable barriers. Warriors in the front row hold shields vertically—protection from frontal attacks. They are further protected from aerial missile attack by warriors in rows behind holding their shields aloft. This is a picture of the Body in Christ. Each believer is assigned a function unique to that person, but we are all one Body and belong to one another.27 Each believer is at the same level winning in the same battle, giving mutual aid and support, standing his/her ground.

Then have Faith—Have faith in God

o Faith comes by hearing—hearing the Word of God. 28

o Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.29

o Have faith in God. Jesus tells his disciples. I tell you the truth. If someone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it, and it will be yours. As you stand praying examine yourself. Do you have any unforgiveness in your heart? Forgive—so your Father in heaven will also forgive you your sins.30 Is forgiveness related to answered prayer? Is there POWER in forgiveness?

o Expose those hidden treasured nuggets—12 unfair treatments, 34 misunderstandings, 16 slights, 258 offenses—some so old the details are fuzzy. When exposed to the light of Christ Jesus, unforgiveness is ugly—putrid—sin. In Greek, to forgive is to send away. Jettison your unforgiveness. You can be free—no longer a victim! In the NAME of Jesus, send away any toxic unforgiveness. Then deal with any other mountain—problem, barrier—in the NAME of Jesus.

o You have forgiven God, other people and yourself. You spoke to any other problem in the NAME of Christ Jesus and nothing happened. Do you just abandon your faith? Or, do you give praise and thanksgiving while eagerly awaiting His miraculous resolution? An essential principle is involved. God’s plans are not like our plans. God’s methods are not like our methods. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, God’s methods and plans are superior to our methods and plans. His promises return to Him only after His plan is accomplished—His promises are fulfilled as He desires and intends. He promises, Without a doubt, you will walk in joy and be led in peace.31 Which is better? To rely on His superior plans and methods or demand our own way? Trusting in God is living on the edge, exciting and exhilarating. Maintaining an attitude of praise and thanksgiving ensures the walk in joy and His leading in peace and freedom from the guilt and shame of unforgiven sin!

o James, the half-brother of Christ Jesus, talks about prayer. You don’t have because you don’t ask. Then you ask and don’t receive because you ask for the wrong reasons. Your requests are not to glorify the Father or Christ Jesus. Your prayers are motivated by self-glorification or self-gratification.32 When prayers aren’t answered, check your motivation. Also, consider God’s timing. It was 25 years from the initial promise until Abraham’s prayer was answered. No human intervention could have accomplished the result. It was the Divine Provider’s miracle. During that time God took care of him and supplied his every need. Abraham learned about faith and patience. Further, God’s timing was perfect.

o Be transformed by applying the Shield of Faith—Praise and Thanksgiving—to any situation including fear, offense and discontent. Praising and Thanking God in and for any and all circumstances demonstrates your faith is in Him to turn evil into good and a curse into blessing. The enemy is defeated by Praise and Thanksgiving. When facing certain defeat, the Prophet told the people Trust in the LORD your God and you will be safe! Give thanks to the LORD. His lovingkindness endures forever. When they began singing, shouting, and praising, the LORD attacked—and defeated—their enemies. 33 It’s God’s will for you to give Thanksgiving in and for everything.34

* Secure the Magnificent Helmet of Salvation on your head. Salvation is preservation, extrication from danger or confinement, deliverance from destruction, difficulty or evil. Accepting Christ Jesus, the Divine Provider, is this Helmet of Salvation. The Helmet of Salvation will not mess up your hair style, but it will protect your mind. When the Helmet of Salvation is firmly in place, it protects when the enemy makes a direct assaults on your mind. The LORD watches over and preserves in perfect peace the person whose mind is sustained by and dependent on Him. Trust in the LORD from this time forward—He is everlasting strength!35

The Helmet of Salvation also transforms you mind. Do not think, reason, or define logic according to the standards of the world. Be transformed by renewing your mind. Get rid of that imbedded sin which constantly trips us up—that pride36 which always leads to disobedience and falling for the crafty evil schemes of the enemy.

Pride—a presumptuous heart—will deceive you. Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Pride is a haughty spirit—arrogant, scornful, and condescending. Pride, a haughty spirit went before the fall and destruction of Lucifer—the Sealer of Perfection. Pride, a haughty spirit went before Eve and Adam and led to their fall, destruction, and eviction from the Garden of Eden. Pride, a haughty spirit is the core of all disobedience—sin—and always leads to a fall, failure and destruction. Pride says It’s all about me—I am is superior—I deserve what ever I want—My life is more important than yours—My opinion is all that matters—Your inconvenience is a personal problem, not my concern—I don’t need God. I’ll do it may way.

Pride, our enemy, the ruler of this world of spiritual darkness—the obscurer of this age—would have us believe God’s promises are hyperbole, merely figures of speech and exaggerations, passé, not applicable in this post modern era. Miracles, signs and wonders belong to a different time. There is nothing new or modern abut this philosophy. The cunning, beguiling serpent in the Garden of Eden questioned God’s word. Paul recognized the source of these deliberations when wrote to the Corinthian Church The god of this age—our enemy—has blinded their minds—lest they would see the light of the Glorious Gospel of Christ.37 Unfortunately many leaders are deceived and their faith destroyed by pride—a presumptuous heart. As you encounter someone with these philosophies, do not allow yourself to be sucked into the lies. Rather, intercede in prayer. Ask for the demonic blinders to be removed and allow this person to see the light of the Glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.

o Think like God thinks. Acknowledge His Superiority. In this way, you are enabled to test and prove God’s will—what is good, well-pleasing, and perfect.38 You have a promise. When you humble yourself before the Lord, He will exalt you.39

o When The Prophet remembered the LORD’s lovingkindness, he had hope:
1. The LORD’s unconditional loyal lovingkindness is everlasting.40
2. His compassions never end—they are fresh every morning.
3. His faithfulness is abundant.
My only possession of any worth—the portion of my inheritance—is the LORD, The Prophet said to himself. I will put my hope in Him. The LORD is good to those who trust in Him—the one who seeks Him. It is good to wait patiently for salvation from the LORD.41 The Prophet had learned some tough, but victorious, lessons.
1. The LORD allows only those problems, barriers, and even disasters, in one’s life for which He already has a solution—His plans are to prosper not harm you—plans to give you a future filled with hope.42
2. Only in the might, power and strength of the LORD, is a person able handle anything which comes his/her way.

* Be prepared to pull the Sword of the Spirit, the Word43 of God, out of the scabbard in a nanosecond.44 The Sword of the Spirit is the essential accessory for victory. Every Word of God is pure. He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.45 Jesus also tells us The Words I speak to you are Spirit and Life.46

Christ Jesus is our example for using the Sword of the Spirit to cut the enemy down to size.

The devil came to Jesus with three temptations.

o Lust of the flesh.
The devil taunts If you are the Son of God, command these stones to be made bread.

Christ Jesus hasn’t eaten for 40 days. He is ravenously hungry, but simply responds with Scripture. Man does not live by bread alone. He lives by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

o Pride of life.
The devil continues If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from the pinnacle of the Temple. Scripture says ‘He will command His angels concerning you. They will lift you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ If Jesus is going to use Scripture, he will too, although the citation is out of context.

Once again. It is written, Jesus counters, You are not to test the Lord your God.

o Lust of the eyes.
Finally, the devil takes Jesus to a very high mountain and shows Him all the kingdoms of the world and all their glory. He no longer taunts Jesus. This is a business transaction. He cuts to the chase. All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me. Satan is willing to give it all away, if Jesus will worship him. The devil has a passionate longing for the worship and adoration reserved for the Most High God.

If he can just trick Jesus into worshipping him, he will achieve his goal. It is true, it is sin to worship Satan, and Jesus is sinless, but that is beside the point. The suggestion is expedient and mutually beneficial. Jesus can possess the whole world right now and avoid going to the cross. Satan will achieve his ultimate goal—he will no longer be either constrained or condemned by the Most High God. He can receive praise and devotion. He will have proof of his superiority—he outwitted God! I can visualize Satan salivating over the prospect.

Jesus’ response is short and to the point, "Go, Satan! It is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Serve Him only...’

Satan knows he is beaten. He is still under the authority of the Most High God and must obey Christ's command to leave. He slinks away to lick his wounds. Conversely, angels come to Jesus and minister to His needs.47

Just like Jesus, speak the Word of God. Speak the words by which your entire household will be saved.48 The Word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it.49 The presence of the Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, is right here with you and within you. The LORD promises, They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. I am with you, to deliver you.50 At your lowest point, angels will come and minister to your needs, just as they did for Jesus.

Know the Word of God. The Word of God is alive and mighty—full of power. The Word of God is the most inspirational and creative force in the Universe. All creation was first in the mind of God. When He spoke His plan, nothingness became the Universe, operating in perfect order. Everything which can be seen, heard, felt, touched, and smelled began as intangible thoughts and plans in the mind of God.51 The Word of God is enlightenment—insight and understanding for life.52 The Word of God endures forever.53 As you read His Word every day, you will receive nourishment, might, power, and victory in Christ Jesus.

Expect miracles not a problem free life. Expect victory not defeat. The Divine Provider, the Father of All Illumination, is the source of every good and perfect gift.54 He has resources to meet each and every need. The only possession of any value or worth is Christ Jesus. He has a strong persistent yearning to give you a hope filled future, both for eternity and right now!

Humble yourself. Allow His joy to be your strength by giving Him Praise and Thanksgiving both for and during each and every problem and obstacle with which you are confronted. Acknowledge the excellence of His knowledge and wisdom. He knows exactly what He is doing. Sorrow—tragedy—devastation—is inevitable. You will be affected. We live in a fallen world. During those dark times, it is okay to weep and mourn. Just don’t stay there. Commit all the agony and disappointment to the God of HOPE. Anticipate His light shining on the situation. You can experience His JOY as His FAVOR restores you to life.55 Your demonstration of faith in the Divine Provider, defeats those enemy forces who want only to steal your faith, kill your relationship with God, and wreak devastation in your life.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart.
Do not rely on your own understanding.

Acknowledge the LORD in everything you do
And He will make the path smooth before you.

Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Revere the LORD and turn from evil.

This will bring healing to your body
And refreshment to your inner-self.56
