I feel like David,
for my heart longs to be
like God’s. My lips can
only sing praises to the
Lord of Hosts. I must
pick up my stringed
instruments to sing with
the dawn.
I feel like Jeremiah,
for God knew me before
I was ever born. He placed
the fire into my bones, so that I
must write the words that
are burned into my heart.
I feel like Moses,
for I can only be humble
when I am in the Presence
of the Lord of Hosts. I must
grovel on the floor, for I feel
So unworthy next to the Glory
of the Lord.
I want to feel like Jesus,
for I long to see people
with love and compassion the
way that He does.
I am part of the Body, for I can
only move as instructed
by the Head. I must hear
His instructions, and obey.
