1 + 1 + 1 does not equal 1............ 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 ...........but 1 x 1 x 1 does equal 1

This is a very important concept, especially when you are explaining the Trinity to someone that does not have the Catholic background of the Trinity. And yes, the term ‘Trinity’ originated in the Roman Catholic Church. The term ‘Trinity’ is not mentioned even once in the Bible.

This 1 x 1 x 1 = 1 concept is even more important to those that have the Catholic background of the Trinity. If you study the history of how this ‘Trinity’ term came about, you will understand that even the Catholic church itself was in disagreement about this understanding of God. You must never make the Trinity
into 1 + 1 + 1 = 3.........it should always be 1 x 1 x 1 = 1

And even though 1 may have many different appearances, for example, 2/2 = 1, 1 will always be just 1.

Mark 12:29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”32 So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. 33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

This is why mathematics is so fascinating to me. I have learned that God truly had a plan in mind when He taught us to think mathematically.

Often questions come up from the mind of a child, “Who made God?” “God made everything, but where did God come from?”

So God gave us a mathematical concept of eternity. Something without a beginning and without end. Have a child name the largest number. Then have the child name the smallest number. It’s not possible when you have an infinity of whole numbers and decimal numbers. God is like numbers in that He has no beginning, and He has no end.

Numbers also give us order. They prevent chaos. A very simple explanation of this could be seen in a situation such as selling a piece of land to a neighboring King. When you measure the land and the amount it is worth, your measurements and your calculations better be accurate or you may end up with a war on your hands. You can go explore all kinds of situations with this same idea, always remembering how important it is to God, that we always are to love one another.

Mathematics shows us patterns that could only come from a well thought of plan in all of creation. And if it is so well planned, then we must have an awesome planner!

Mathematics shows us that there are always relationships between all things. So many religions allow God to be a creator, but then consider Him out of the relationship with His creation. Our world is full physical examples of simbiotic relationships (life needing other life for survival).

God created everything as good and even very good, but not as perfect. If creation was perfect and fully discovered, it would all be already figured out for us and there would be no more exploring or changes to be made. Things that are perfect are already complete and there is no need for change. God created us for an eternity and it would be awfully boring if things weren’t left to be discovered or weren’t constantly changing. Math helps us in the discovery of new things. It allows us to calculate and estimate and wonder about what is coming next.

So there you have it. God in a Math lesson. And this is one of the many reasons, why I go to God's school and have Christ as my teacher. Shouldn’t you consider going to God's school also?
