The Prayer Journal of a Graphic Designer
Day One: A new assignment! I'm so excited I can't even start. I just want to dance. Thank you, THANK YOU! I'll start tomorrow.
Day Two: I have absolutely no ideas. Not one image comes to mind. Help! HELP!
H E L P !
Day Three: Okay. I appreciate the abundance. I really do, but now I've got an avalanch of ideas. There's waaaaaay too many. I can't discern which to keep or toss. Help!
Day Four: I never thought I'd see the day. There is absolutely no type that works. They are either too boring or unreadable. Has this ever happened to anyone else on the planet? I feel like the only one. Help!
Day Five: Thanks for that ONE type that works. It's perfect. JUST PERFECT! But now I can't decide on the background; purple or peach? Clever or intuitive? Why can't I decide? I would appreciate not having to have a panic attack........ It's not as if this decision is going to affect millions of people. Perhaps 50..... I wonder if I made the wrong decision that day I bought all the computer graphic software. What did I know......Hmmmmmmm. Please help those who make decisions that affect millions of lives. Like the leaders of other countries. Your mind in their minds. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. And the decision makers in this country, come to think of it, may your mind overide their mind....... Still, even though this design won't be even the equivalent of a ripple, please help me with this decision. OH! A thought came my way, like another voice in my head. It said: "Peach. You use a lot of purple, so it will get you out of your comfort zone. Plus it will diversify your portfolio." Was that you? I don't think I think that way. Anyways, I feel it's you because it's so true. I do use a lot of purple and teal for that matter. Thanks for your help!
Day Six: It looks good. People have complemented on it that never comment on my stuff. I haven't even intentionally shown it to anyone. Amazing. Thank you. Don't know why I was so frozen in indecision. Now I know that your eye is on the sparrow even; even on me; even on my design project. I'm all choked up.
Day Seven: It's good! It is good! IT IS GOOD! It's also good to rest in your peace.
