Life is a cycle, an unending spin
Though striving for sainthood, we fall short in sin
The wealthy and poor alike shall know death
Not mammon nor pow’r can sustain our breath
Success is fleeting while mis’ry endures
No state is perm’nent is all that’s assured
All wise men know from life and through prayer
Change is the constant, of this be aware
Even Christ declared the last shall be first
Cursed may be blest while the bless’ed be cursed
The son of our God suffered shame and death
That the lowest of men heaven could bless
So despite the trials we face in life’s spin
The proud will fall, and the meek rise again
