Stolen from me as I was praying
Cursed robber who sweeten and damn me,
Sent to confuse me; but who do you represent?
the One who can read the hearts of men
Yet forgive me Lord, if I fall quickly to the prey
this an easy bait, you know well

I petition, play not with me
for this you know I can’t not succumb to -
taking a survey of friends, Ron my only consolation
“I agree, I don’t think it’s a need, I don’t own one myself”
confirmed You the one that permitted the thief to enter
Your Holy House to free of this burdensome responsibility

but I sensed a trap, this You incapable of,
it was not You after all freeing me
but the deceiver tempting me with what I most seek -
Focused now, soul speaking, flesh listening
“Test Self against His teachings,
see whether Self the sole beneficiary”

No greater love than one laying life down for other
Motherhood, a vocation given from above,
Freedom from “Reachable Me” not an option as a Protector
Offer disguised to tempt ambitions of solitude or love for my charge
Shameless one, to come with such a ploy, but
deliverance should never be at the expense of my beloved

My welcoming bench here near the beach expecting me -
I gaze upon the barren trees, “Trees do you too have vocations?”
shading leaning lovers, and providing homes for the squirrels
Do you too sometimes seek freedom from us all?
just free to be Tree and soak up the sun
and not die to self for sake of us

“Thank you my friend Tree for being welcoming,
I see I too have taken you for granted all these years
as if planted just for my sitting and musing
Thank you, Friend Tree for Wisdom
I must take leave now and make the ride
to re-purchase “Accessible Me”
