In loving sin, I loved my flesh,
All the while destroying me;
My life went far from being fresh,
Yet from Jesus I would flee;

He frightened me, with reckless awe,
Yet, fascinated same, with same twist;
His Father pursued me, that I may draw
To Him, this wounded One in wrist;

I hated my humanity, for the curse,
And saw no purpose for my life;
My slavery only made it worse;
Conscience, cutting like a knife;

In my sin, I was cornered,
Not by dark, but by light;
I saw my life as grace-bordered,
And He saved me with His might;

I soon fell in love with Him,
Seeing Who He is;
Taking me, in spite of sin,
And for it, gave me bliss;

In loving God, I hate the sin,
Which kept me far from Christ;
In losing self, I gained Him,
My needed Sacrifice;

Then I gained another love,
For my humanity;
With my state, borne above,
I learned I could love me;

I am unique, with gracious gift,
Instilled by divine unction;
Once borne again, with healed rift,
I found my kingdom function;

Then I saw natural talent,
Given within the womb;
With one of these, my words come valiant,
For One risen from the tomb;

So my person is a mark
Of my Lord’s creativity;
This son of Noah, of the Ark;
There’s no other, quite like me;

And then I saw another reason,
For which to love the Lord;
This revelation in due season,
For this human He adored;

For I see, this simple Lord,
With magnificent acumen;
Creator of man, to be adored,
Lovingly became human;

Goethe said, "We are shaped
And fashioned by what we love;"
Truly, true believers are shaped
By their love in Christ above;

In like manner; His love for us,
Shaped Him to be like man;
He came in clothing made from dust,
To save him from being damned.



Author's Note: Man was human before he fell. Therefore being human is not being evil, but tainted by sin, to commit sin against the will of his Creator.

God shows His love for us in two different ways.
1. He created us, and,
2. He saved those He created,

Man is the epitome of God's creativity. Magnificent in ability, awesome in diversity. From a few simple codes of DNA, comes a awful (full of awe) array of a certain theme of design, which we call Man.

Additionally, there is something I've learned about being a believer in Christ-loving God. For the believer, it is something that changes as one grows in the Lord. Here are the levels it goes through, as I see it now:

1. Loving God because of Him saving the person.
2. Loving God because of His nature overall, which includes saving the person.
3. Loving God for what He has given the person upon salvation (example: spiritual gifts, ministry).
4. Loving God for the natural abilities (talents) He has given the person before salvation.
5. Loving self as a way of loving God, for God made him.

As David said, "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well."--Psalm 139:14
