I love my shoes. Had ‘em for 10 whole years now. Just can't buy a good pair of shoes today that will last. I love my shoes, but that d___ hole in my soul is sure buggin' me. I just gotta fix em. Find that super glue, I will, and patch ‘em up for good.

My neighbor told me to go get these shoes repaired. He said my soul could always be repaired. I know what they'll do. They'll lose my good shoes and I'll never see ‘em again. That other fella told me he took his shoes to get repaired and they kept ‘em for 6 months. I just can't lose these shoes. I love my shoes. Had ‘em for 10 years now. I'll fix ‘em, that's what I'll do.

Well, this patch just doesn't seem to be holdin'. This has got to work. I can't go anywhere with a hole in my soul. Ya know, this reminds me about that preacher boy stoppin' by the other day. He said my soul was going to hell if I didn't repair it. Is that what he said? Yep, he said my soul needs repairin'. Well I'll be d_____. Now I know what he meant. Maybe God thinks I got a hole that needs fixin'.

Dear Lord, you just go ahead and fix my hole. I give you permission to do your work. Maybe you love me just as much as I love my shoes and I just gotta fix this hole. Yep, you fix my hole and my soul will be bran' new. I love my shoes.
