His Guiding Hand

My days are many, my eyes grow dim, but within me the love of my Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, burns bright and gives me the courage to endure.

His love gives me the courage to face the ills that pervade this sin filled world and will enable me to walk triumphantly through the sins that buffet me from every side.

O Lord, Your "Light" shines before me and lights the path that You want me to trod, without Your "Light" surly I would fall prey to the sins that abound.

I walk with hope in my heart that You will be with me all the days of my life and that You will comfort me as I close my eyes in death.

With every new day comes the hope of a new life, a life that I will spend with You on the other side of the door of death.

O Lord, wipe the tears of pain from my eyes, that I might see more clearly in the last days of my life and find comfort in Your presence.

To many old age means the end of life, but to me it represents the beginning of a new life, one that lies beyond the grave.

Guide me O Lord, guide me through every phase of life, for I am weak and need You to keep me from going astray.

I pray that my fellowman will seek You with an open heart and stand fast in Your "Love" as they too walk the path that You have set before them.

In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I come before You and offer myself to Thy service, through Jesus Christ I offer this prayer.
