Man had fallen, through Adam;
For he had failed miserably;
He had faltered eternally,
Having eaten the fruit;
He had failed the Lord’s commission,
Not teaching his bride;
The Word of the Lord;

And God came looking for Adam
Calling, “Where are you?”
Adam had hidden in immature fear;

The Lord began to counsel,
Making the responsible accountable;
Adam blamed his wife and the Lord;
Eve said the serpent deceived her,
And then the Lord indicted the creature,
To live on his belly
And eat the dust;

He also warned the serpent:
Enmity between him
And the woman that is Israel;
Between the children of the serpent,
And the Seed of the woman;

How can this be?
Woman cannot have seed
Apart from man;
For this was to be a special birth,
Borne without man’s agency;

The Seed would come
To be bruised by the serpent,
Yet the Seed would return
To bruise his head;

The heel was bruised;
A less than mortal wound;
The Seed will return
To mortally wound the serpent.



Author's Note: Based on Gen. 3:8-15, I believe this is where God first mentions His plan of salvation through the Seed, Jesus Christ.
