Scripture Reference: Proverbs 12
Theme: Decision making, doing the right thing

Scene: (a Basketball court)

Characters: Sean
Bill
John
Coach

Coach: C’mon guys. Make this last shot and we win the game. You can do it.

Sean: We can if we don’t give the ball to John,he never makes a basket.

John (looking sad): I always try to, I just don’t have the skill I guess.

Bill: I never even wanted him on the team. We only let him play because he is new.

John (Dejected): You don’t have to let me shoot. I just won’t play anymore.

Coach: I know that John never makes a shot but if we don’t give him the ball how can we expect him to get better.

Bill: The coach is right. We should let him shoot the ball it is only fair.

(Sean looks at him in bewilderment)

Sean: Are you sure?

Coach: Yes.

Bill: If I remember correctly, you were not very good when you first started to play.

Sean: I guess you are right.

(The Game continues and Sean passes the ball to John and urges him to shoot the ball John misses the shot and looks dejected.)

Sean: It’s okay John you tried

Bill: Yeah you will make it next time.

John: You mean you’re not angry?

Bill: (Reassuring) No. You tried your best. Lets Go.

(Three boys exit and the coach stands alone for a minute and smiles).
