My soul longs to be beside the still waters,
The still waters that ripple gently o’er the multicolored rocks below.
Gentle susurration they diffuse throughout the land,
Precious harmonies do they sing to all who listen.

Come and sit with me beside the still waters,
Sit where all is calm and all is quiet.
Let our souls resonate with the vibrational energy that these waters give out freely,
Free for all to share; free for all to enjoy.
Indeed, thirst none who sit beside these waters.

Sweet robins and friends come and sing beside the still waters,
They bare their heraldic breasts and trumpet their mellifluous melodies.
The scarlet tanager comes to join in and together the music made,
Comprises an ineffable chorus of peace and love.

Beside the still waters the sky is azure blue,
No clouds,
Only streaks of holy mists span its infinite expanse of cerulean crystal.
A rainbow stretches lazily across the waters,
Its colors mingling with the sweet sounds of the avian chorus,
Its wide arch reflects the playfully dancing melodies,
To and fro like the busy hand of a symphony conductor.
It is all so beautiful, too indescribable to tell.

Beside the still waters dark clouds hang not,
Nor do melancholy states offend its serenity.
Halcyon guards stand watch o’er this and none dare enter this way,
What peace, what joy, let all come and take in.

My soul longs to be beside the still waters,
The crystal clear waters where my mouth can drink.
Waters which purify and sanctify,
Waters which magnify my soul.

My soul longs to be there,
Beside these same still waters.
Lead me there, oh, Lord,
Lead me there anon.
