Prayers

Dear Lord,

I need your help today. I am truly at your mercy. I am saddened by so many things and yet I know that there are those that suffer much more than I do. Life presents a new set of obstacles every day. I am not exempt from anything. The down trodden and homeless walk the streets every day and so it’s hard to compare my troubles to theirs. I’m asking Lord for peace. I cannot live in chaos. My soul is troubled and in despair. I have lost touch with you and I’m sure that it is of my own doing. I cannot hear your voice. I have lost my way. I am running on empty.

I pray dear Lord that you bring rest to my soul and that you quiet my spirit so that I can receive from you once again. I confess that I have not come to you with any of my decisions. I have been making them all on my own and I am suffering the consequences. I do not deserve anything Lord. The only right that I have to request anything from you is because of Jesus. He took my place on the cross for every wayward act that I ever committed. It is through Him that I pray.

The world has a way of strangling the truth. It has a way of luring me into my own self absorbed life. I have to admit that I have fallen prey to this and so Lord I repent of this and ask you to help me. I am nothing without you. I cannot understand life without you and I will never understand myself without you. Please hear my prayer.
