Dancing in Fields of Daisies

Dedicated to the most beautiful woman I know:

Mommy, I've found my fields of daisies,
(They're full of birdsong and scents of spring.)
where still drops of dew settle quietly
and peace is carried on butterfly wings.

I'm picking a daisy just for you;
Won't you let me place it in your hair?
Look at you now; You're the loveliest thing.
I have never seen a lady more fair.

I'm dancing among fields of daisies,
wrapped up in the arms of my First Love,
learning step-by-step, as I follow Him,
to the Dove's song I've always just dreamt of.

I miss a few steps, but He's not phased;
Seems my clumsiness means not a thing.
We sit for a while beside still waters,
after we drink from the clear mountain streams.

I pick the daisies while sitting there
and toss the petals into the wind;
Every petal whispers, "He loves me;"
Every one of them -- "Yes" and "Amen."

Mommy, I've found my fields of daisies,
where Son-Light shines and clouds drift away.
May you smell the perfume in the dewdrops
from these fields of daisies I found today.

I love you, Mommy. Thank you for being you. ~TJ

Barbara, my friend, the Light truly "shines through."
What a timely blessing! And what a beautiful heart you share.

The original poem:

Fields of Daisies

Dedicated to Mom and inspired by the quote: "If I had to do it all over again, I'd pick more daisies." ~unknown

Somewhere,
there are fields of daisies,
just waiting for their time to bloom.
And if I close my eyes
and open my heart,
I can smell their sweet perfume.

Someday,
I’m gonna run and play,
like a child whose young heart is free,
through a field of daisies
and give back to God’s earth
the scent of a sweeter me.

Somehow,
when it all seems dreary,
when daisies can scarcely be found,
when winter’s chill threatens
my joy, He promises:
“The seeds are yet in the ground.”

Today,
a little ladybug
crawled up my leg and stared at me.
Daises were painted there,
on her tiny wings --
a subtle promise of spring.

Someday,
I will pick a daisy.
Maybe I’ll pick one for you too.
For now, I think I’ll just
enjoy the snowflakes
and the silvery winter’s moon.

Somewhere,
there are fields of daisies,
just waiting for their time to bloom.
And if I close my eyes
and open my heart,
I can smell their sweet perfume.

"Some day" has come to us in knowing Jesus... and "some where" is in His presence... oh, your story so melodiously sings of the marvelous reality of walking with Him today.... It's not about some moment in the future that may or not come to us... it's not about some place that we may or may not ever come to while here on earth... it's all about His sweet presence, freedom, and love being seen in our lives right here and right now! Blessings to you!

Touching thoughts which are artistically written. Both poems are beautiful expressions of the joy of feeling God's love.

This is beautiful Joyce! It is a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. (Philip. 4:18)You ARE a spiritual house offering up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ, as stated in 1 Peter 2:5! Love, Sharon
