Go Away, You're Not My Kind

Reach up to God, your hands uplift
But don't use your brother as a ladder
You can't increase your stature one bit
By saying I'm just a bit better
The brass you behold in your brother's gold
Won't bring you closer to the Master.

You can't bring beauty to your garden
By planting thorns in your brother's
You can't conceal your own need of pardon
By constantly cutting down others.

If you're so bent on destroying
You're much too busy to build
If other's stumblings leave you rejoicing
Your words will only kill.

When you ridicule God's artistry
And mock another color
You say, Because they're not like me
I can't put up with others

You can't see some through Christlike eyes
Because to their beauty you're blind
So you turn away and fearfully say,
Go away, you're not my kind!
