Prophecy
If the Lord doesn’t return soon, will I be able to stand? More and more I find myself divided from those around me. I hear the smirks and sly comments around me and wonder if I am alone in a sea of indifference. I feel the distain and even repulsion from many of those I am closest to.
I often wonder why those I love and am charged with sharing the prophetic word with, seem to care less about the signs of the times and show their distain to me. I feel like an unwelcome guest at a party left to skirt the sides of the walls while the dance goes on.
I don’t have trouble with the remarks and attitudes of strangers or brief acquaintances, but I admit it hurts when those closes to me show signs of intolerance or discomfort when I talk about the signs of the times.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to act like a martyr who suffers for Christ or who must carry a heavy cross alone; I am just perplexed at the reaction I get from those I care the most for and who seem to be oblivious of what is going on in the world today.
I am no prophet but I can read the news today and compare it with the scriptures and come to the conclusion that the birth pangs are upon us. I can see the prophetic clock ticking from the birth of Israel as a nation in May of 1948. I can see the results of the 6-day war in 1967 when Jerusalem came back into the hands of God’s chosen people. I can see the great changes in our weather patterns, the devastating diseases, floods, famines, volcano eruptions, great fires, pollution, wars, hatred, wickedness in high places, false prophets, mainline religions turning away from the teachings of sound doctrine, and on Infinitum; the signs of the times!
The word of God is so clear about these things, yet so many don’t want to hear about them. Approximately one third of the Bible is prophetic, yet not taught or just skimmed over by so many.
Paul wrote: "Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. (1Thessalonians 4:13-18)
We, as Christian, say we are looking forward to the Rapture, but so many say, “Not now.” Why, because we have places to go, people to see, things to do, people to get saved before Christ returns, so hold on Jesus, don’t come now. Folks, He will come in His timing and we had better be more concerned about preaching the Truth and not about being busy for business sake. There will be many left behind whenever He returns. Many will not turn to the Truth no matter what is said or done. They deserve our best effort to evangelize them while the Light is still in the world, but we need to realize that the time is short and we need to have a sense of urgency about our task.
Too often we are caught up in accumulating things. Bigger, better, more, more, till the storehouse is full and we have to tear it down to build even bigger ones. Does the old song, “Owe MY soul To The Company Store,” mean anything to you?
Well, I recon I can take the distain and dismay that I feel from so many. I just needed to vent a little so that I can refocus on being the Watchman God called me to be. Thank God that I am not alone. I know He has called and prepared many out there to stand on the walls.
To all you wall sitters; let me say, “I appreciate you and the calling we share.” We certainly need each other, even more as the clock ticks down.
. Therefore encourage each other with these words
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus. Amen!

Sometimes it is like functioning in a parallel universe. We are walking right beside the world (and our loved ones) and can reach out and touch them physically, but spiritually they are light years away. We are charged to listen "for whom the bell tolls" - and for those of us who can hear it, it is excruciatingly painful to be standing next to ones who hear NOTHING! There is no clanging for them. Also, do you ever wonder how incoming and constant SOUND (I-Pods, stereo everywhere from the elevator to the grocery to the car, games, movies)CAN be used as screaming noise to cause distraction so we cannot hear the true tolling of signs of the time. My own son acts like two minutes without "music" is like having no oxygen mask in the midst of toxic fumes.
If it helps, I don't think you are any of those things you are feeling. If you are, then so am I. Don't stop though...someone somwhere will hear (finally) and it will make a difference.
To me, it is exciting, having a front row seat right here at the end. A student of history and Revelations can practically predict what will happen next...or at least NOT be surprised (like Israel giving up the Gaza Strip. God DID say to NOT touch the land he had given His people). Don't fret. Just smile knowingly. I even made my son chuckle the last time he left on a trip. I said, "Oh, one more thing. If we are raptured while you are away, I'd SURE better see you on the way up or you are in big trouble kid!"
Hang in there. Please. You are needed.
