The Promise Eternal

We didn’t want to let you go,
Time, as always, was our foe,
And like the wind, the days go by,
So we all light this with a sigh.

As we remember how we felt so rushed,
For you were such a precious gift to us.
God heals wounds, of course, it’s true.
He’s called you home, made you brand new.

We’ll meet again someday, we know,
For the LORD has said that’s so.
But ‘til the time comes such as that,
We’ll love you always, now that’s a fact.
