Written 1-12-06

To be caught up in Your flood of grace
Is more than I could hope for me;
It is the source of light for my face;
For this gift You lavish on me;

I’m far too poor to pay its price;
You’re far too rich to sell to me;
Yet it is given for love o’ my life;
And what You give You give so free;

This kindness convicts my foolish way;
Provokes in me a resolve of repentance,
Knowing this gift is here to stay;
I am no longer under Your sentence;

One important thing I must remember:
This gift came not without cost;
It came through Your Son’s surrender,
To where He died upon Your cross;

So to whom much is given,
To him much is required;
May by this truth I be driven,
And be thus divinely grace-wired.
