3. Bible Study
Bible study is essential for any church or individual growth .When the word takes pride of place hence bible studies taken seriously. The entrance of God’s word brings light, liberation, illumination, cleansing, direction, correction, soundness of mind, boldness, teaching, spiritual knowledge.

We must be hungry for the word of God.
We must desire God’s word more than our daily food like Job “I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food..” Job23:12
We must crave for it like babies crave for their milk. 2Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,(1Pet 2:2)_
The word of God sanctifies. That was why Jesus said. 17Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. John 17;17,
"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:31-32

We need to be wise like the Bereans who search the scripture after they had received the word searched it diligently to see if it was so. Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11
12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Heb.4:12
the Psalmist said;
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
24 Your statutes are my delight;
they are my counsellors.
40 How I long for your precepts!
Preserve my life in your righteousness.
47 for I delight in your commands
because I love them. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
86 All your commands are trustworthy;
89 Your word, O LORD, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens.
96 To all perfection I see a limit;
but your commands are boundless.
97 Oh, how I love your law!
I meditate on it all day long.
98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
for they are ever with me.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers,
for I meditate on your statutes.
100 I have more understanding than the elders,
for I obey your precepts.
103 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.
112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.
148 My eyes stay open through the watches of the nigh
that I may meditate on your promises.
160 All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal.
162 I rejoice in your promise
like one who finds great spoil.
165 Great peace have they who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
167 I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly.

From the scripture above we can see that the word of God is true, boundless, brings great peace, keeps you from stumbling; brings understanding, insight, correction and joy. It is eternal, robust; able to unveil the mind of God to us. It is the New Covenant established on better promises, yes and Amen in Christ Jesus. .It changes things but remains the same
Paul enjoined in Roman 12 to renew our minds through the word.
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.Rom12:1-2

Great blessing await those who put the word of God first.
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
Psalm1:1-3
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Col 3;16

8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Eat the word, chew it, digest it, regurgitate it, and ponder over it. Let it speak to you, challenge you correct you, propel you from glory to glory.
