Fallen snow so pure and white,
Fallen snow glistening bright;
In the crisp air of a clear night,
Shining from a pale moonlight.

It is such a marvelous sight,
Making one feel good alright;
As tingling fingers of frostbite,
I slip my gloves on so tight.

A wolf afar giving me a fright,
As he is howling at the plight;
One of the pack killed in a fight,
By another with more might.

Survival of the fittest from a bite,
Just like the eagle that is in flight;
Swooping on a prey with delight,
In order to satisfy his appetite.

But now as I sit here and write,
Our instincts are more contrite;
And difference of wrong and right,
That only God could give insight.
