If you ask me how I'm doing, and I'd say
I'm happy to be here to see another day
For this is the day that the Lord made
So let us rejoice in it and give God the praise

Are you able to stand up and then take a step
And I mean without crutches or anybody's help
There are so many people who are bound to the bed
And they can't even turn over all by themselves

I got so much to be thankful for
My health and my strength to be thankful for
Clothed in my right mind to be thankful for
A normal but godly life to be thankful for

Somebody died today; somebody cried today
Someone forgot to pray and couldn't find their way
I once was lost too, but right now, I'm found
Went down the wrong road, but God turned me around

I got so much to be thankful for
A roof o'er my head to be thankful for
Food on my table to be thankful for
And a God that's able to be thankful for
