Encouragement
A few weeks ago I was watching a story on Dateline about a young woman who was suffering from anorexia. It was sad to see a woman who had went from 135lbs to 58. As she began to tell her story my heart wept for her because of the reason behind her illness. If we look in our society today the value of a woman has been taken to levels of degradation unknown. Our young girls are aspiring towards images and personalities instead of looking inside.
God made each one of us with a beauty and a purpose. The bible says, "that we were skillfully and wondrously made". So why are we trying to change what He made, because the world has painted the picture of the perfect woman. This woman was looking at actresses and models to determine her worth. She began trying to become something she was never meant to be. She was already a beautiful woman with a career and a lot of things going for her.
But because she was in the spotlight and always in front of the camera as a News Reporter she fell into society's perfect woman syndrome. I only know of one perfect woman and that was EVE. God made her just like he wanted her and when she came she had everything she needed to please her God, her husband and the world. We try so much to change our outside appearance, but the inside of us stays the same. When I'm trying to look like you and trying to fit into your world then I neglect the woman I was destined to be.
Even with all the mistakes we make and the mess we make of our lives sometimes, there is still a beauty that makes us unique. I feel sorry for women that believe the only way to fit in society and the trends of this decade is to become a statistic of degradation, perversity and falsehood. You see older women dressing like young women when that time in their lives has passed. Then you see young girls being dressed up by their mothers to look old, they lose their innocence and purity before their time.
Pure: "free from what weakens or pollutes; unmixed with any other matter"
If you know who you are and you except what God has made you, then you are a blessed woman. But if you feel you have to change to please others or you feel like God made a mistake with you, then your missing the beauty of your uniqueness.
long hair, short hair, size 20, size 6, short or tall, African American, Caucasian, Hispanic, any other, high income, low income, many kids, no kids, career woman, at home mom, married, single, it doesn't matter, there is beauty in us all.
