’Tis the season to celebrate, to rejoice
Cheers and praises to Him, with our voice
Is it only joyful Christmas that we see
Or any deeper a meaning, could it be?

Heavenly destined, the King has, to sacrifice
Peace has got, to come at, an incredible price
The very moment, the blessing fought to birth
Beyond imaginable, timely, war of the earth

Was the purest, little baby, in that manger
To be some day, The Lord, our master
Humbled in flesh, Our Savoir, was tortured
For my freedom, may it be, always remembered

You were pierced, brutally, for our transgression
Bitter mission has brought redemption
Being crushed, replacing in our iniquity
Punishment set, upon you, for my liberty

Turned in yourself, on an alter, for my sake
Only you, greatest love, had to take
By your wounds, I was healed, completely
Saved my soul, made it new, for eternity

Was the birth truly for a great mission
Grievous journey miraculously, a divine reason
Was your birth just to lead to painful torture
With your love, willingly, had to suffer

You’ve won the battle, so I’d gain, the victory
Covered my sin, cleansed me, to purity
Season of giving, season of love, love reminder
To Your Spirit, let our hearts, grow closer

Celebrating your birthday my sweet little King
Thank you Lord, once again, for everything
Soften my soul with gratitude, my humbling heart
Christmas peace, always stay, never depart
