Many times I have written here about the timidity and lack of guts generally shown by today’s Christians. The following is an example.

I have a blog on the internet. A blog is a type of diary where people write on whatever topic they choose. Mine promotes God and Jesus, and has done for several months. I didn’t put it in the “religious” category.

During that time two or three Christians left a comment that they were glad to see someone speaking for God etc. Recently though, the only comments at the blog were by those involved in the occult, one in particular whose user name made it very clear she is involved in witchcraft.

Being pawns of satan, they called me all kinds of names, liar, a sick man, sad, etc. I don’t mind that, I’m used to that ploy and it is nothing new. The occultists were therefore using my blog to promote their activities in the comment section without any challenge from anyone but me.

What disturbs is that those same Christians who left a comment earlier had nothing to say in defence of the gospel, and didn’t speak up for the Lord. They were obviously reading the blog, because they left the earlier comment. In the end I had to prevent anyone making comments, because the only ones posted were those promoting satan or debunking Christianity. I’ve put up my email address at the blog for those with a genuine salvation inquiry.

So it’s clear to me the foregoing account is all part of the great falling away the Bible speaks of in 2 Thess 2:3, applying to these last days. Those who are smug and complacent in their nice, safe church environment need to consider whether they might be ignored when Jesus returns – and it won’t be too long, mark my words.

The Lord talks a lot about being an overcomer in Revelation chapter 2. One cannot be an overcomer sitting in the church and not speaking up for the faith publicly.

People believe in many things today; not many believe the gospel – or anything in God’s Word. It is because the great salvation of Jesus is not being proclaimed as it should be, and as it used to be.

If you believe you have the truth, then begin to speak for it wherever you are, and by whatever method the Holy Spirit gives you. Frankly I’m disgusted with the timidity of most Christians today.

The antidote is to read the Word, believe it and act upon it. Get going for Jesus!
