Because Christmas is supposed to be about Jesus, the Christ, the Word of God, the Immanuel, I will start there.

The Life

The Word of God gives us the Way back to the Father

The Word of God gives us the Truth that leads to everlasting life

The Word of God gives us the Life we were always meant to live from the beginning

The Word of God is the One we left behind in the garden of Eden, when we decided to create our own ways, truths and lives (believing that death was life).

God gave us the Truth. He wants us to seek the truth in all we do and say. He wants to be honored and loved through His Son. He wants us to abide in Christ.

Saint Nicholas was a man that loved God and his fellow man. Santa Claus is just a myth to take away from that truth.

The only true gift is one that cannot be wrapped in a package. God gave us the only gift we should ever need, the gift of His only begotten Son. We are to proclaim that gift to the world and that will be the only gift we ever need to give.

Trees provide great lessons from God and should not be used to teach selfishness and greed.
God gave us many lessons using trees, branches, fruit and vines
Christ died for us on a cross from a tree
Christ’s resurrection from that death is the way that we can clearly see the Light in this world of darkness. Jesus is the Light of life, the Light of the world.

So what do you want for Christmas this year?

The true story of Santa Claus begins with Nicholas, who was born during the third century in Patara, a village in what is now Turkey. His wealthy parents, who raised him to be a devout Christian, died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young. Obeying Jesus' words to "sell what you own and give the money to the poor," Nicholas used his whole inheritance to assist the needy, the sick, and the suffering. He dedicated his life to serving God and was made Bishop of Myra while still a young man. Bishop Nicholas became known throughout the land for his generosity to the those in need, his love for children, and his concern for sailors and ships.
