Written in memory of James Allen Smith (September 9, 1948 – November 22, 2005) whose beloved trees and all nature was so much a part of him.

“And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground – trees
that were pleasing to the eye and good for food…”
Genesis 2:9 (NIV)

TREES ‘N’ REASON

Trees ~ rooted, grounded and established,
Like our faith, producing good fruit as well.
Trees abounding . ~ Reason resounding,
Ringing o’er mountains and through the dell.

Hearty conifers with snow laden boughs,
Providing refuge for God’s creatures.
Bird and rabbit both inhabit,
enjoying all His winters’features.

The Scotch, White, and Ponderosa Pine
Offer fragrance wafting in the breeze.
A walk through pine carpeted stillness
Brings peace and sets one’s mind at ease.

The autumn aspens leave us breathless,
Bringing eye-pleasure of twinkling fun,
Listening to sounds of whispering gold,
Exchanging their secrets in the sun.

Sequoias’ girths awake our wonder
To what mysteries lie in their rings.
Ancient towers reaching toward heaven,
Reminding us why “all nature sings.”

In Midwestern and New England springs,
Where maples’clear sap,… drips into taps,
Then collected, boiled to dark sweet brown,
Sharing their store after long winter naps.

Oh, but wait! Maples give so much more.
Cool, leafy green shade in summer heat,
Or lumber turned into floor or door,
Maybe, a stool for a child’s seat.

Maples bedazzle our eyes in the fall,
Bright crimson, orange, yellow, and brown,
Leaves ~ an array of God’s great splendor.
When the season ends, He calls them down.

So if you believe those words are true,
“It’s only God who can make a tree,”
Cannot the master-mind of all design
Out of dust bring you and me?

And… if our God has a purpose planned
For every tree in each new season,
How much should His children trust
He’s planned our seasons with a reason?

After reading your works
given you of the LORD of heaven, I know which spirit
speaks expressly through you!
Pure and undefiled is equal
to great joy,and it uplifts
all whom read it in spirit!
The LORD would have me to
share some poetry/articles
and sermons that HE has given
me over the last five years,
as I know "His sheep know His
voice, and we are to confirm and affirm to each other, that
which the LORD is doing. I know you also love reading
spiritual/ evanglistic
writings and sermons, so here is the link. May the LORD continue to bless you in all
things, as you receive all things in faith!

May what HE has given me, be
as much of a blessing to you,
as what HE has given you, was
a blessing unto me!
