Star light, star bright, Oh Holy star I see tonight
Shining down upon the town, illuminating all that’s found
Heralding to all on earth, that most glorious event
The birth of God’s one true son, whom to earth He sent

Acting as a beacon, to all who choose to see
Where the Christ Child lives, God’s human form now he
No ceremony or fanfare, no pomp or circumstance
Simplicity the only rule, for Christ our only chance

No grand castle just a stable, no great riches but his blood
Not one clue of royal lineage, ever given from above
He came for us yes you and me, and all who choose to hear
No want or need of PR, yet the message softly clear

An angelic choir the only sound, sent to lead the way
No regal robe or silver spoons, just a manger where he lay
Beasts and commoners fill his court, to man’s eye all unclean
God honored them to view, the greatest gift man’s ever seen

As then it was, it is today, as through Christmas time you go
With all the hype and revelry, loose not the message you’re to know
Christ is why there’s Christmas, his birth the only reason
Without him we’d be hopeless, there’d be not one festive season

So Christmas Eve step outside, away from crowds, noise, glitter far
Look to the sky, seek, and find, that one, bright, quite simple, star
In that star, see the real meaning of, all this glorious season is
In it’s light find one true gift, that child was born and came to give

Stand alone with God upon, that silent, holy night
Drink in the peace here on earth, bestowed by stellar light
Say a quiet heartfelt prayer, to God and His heavenly ranks
It needs not eloquence at all, just say a simple, Thanks
