Now life can be like a basket of cherries
with it's sour and the sweet
Much as you try to make the day go right
here it comes with more treats to eat

We can't even pick which ones they are
don't know what we have to meet
It would have been nice, if it had sent a note
so to brace yourself for the heat

But there they are, all in there together
the good along with the bad
So the only one thing that we can do
is not allow it, to make us sad

Try to add in there some humor with sugar
spice it up before you take a bite
Take time to throw in some joy and happiness
and then just hold on tight

Rope yourself in as you jump in life's basket
and strengthen your faith within;
And though it's like, your sinking at times
know everything does have an end

So if our days don't always start off well
keep on picking through the bunch;
And sooner or later, you'll find those ones
that will give a nice sweet lunch

Now the mind will say throw all them out-
but, we may get the good ones too;
So it's better to let, them stay in there
and work to make the bad be few

Know there is nothing that will last forever
the bright side it will come through
For you have a Savior that knows each day
and is always looking out for you
