Healing

I heard a song,
a slow beautiful song.
It entered through my ears,
as I lay on my bed.
Like smoke it drifted into my soul
it clung to my consciousness
and soothed my pain.
It reminded me of love
and all the pleasant deep feelings.
It drifted to my eyes and it distilled as tears.
I sighed at the beauty of it;
the beauty of the hope it brought.
Hope that all lost could be regained;
that all hurts will heal.
It reached my heart and embraced it,
squeezing it so hard I knew I was healed
And I was free to give and to receive.
