GOD DID NOT MIND

God did not mind
Abraham was a man who despaired
But God saw beyond the circumstance
He used Abraham to demonstrate faith
And in him we all became blessed

God did not mind
Moses was a man defective of speech
It did not deter God
For He saw beyond the imperfection
God used Moses’ courage and delivered His people

God did not mind
He did not mind Jacob’s craftiness
Jacob wrestled with God and became Israel
The chosen people to which we are grafted
And the blessing of Abraham
Has come upon the Gentiles

God did not mind
The status of Rehab not withstanding
God saw her heart in her act
By hiding the spies courageously
Was counted among the heroes of faith

God did not mind
Mary had seven demons
But God reserved special honor
She was not condemned
But was first to see resurrected Lord

God did not mind
Peter denied the Lord when it mattered most
But the one who knows the end from the beginning
Declared the revelation of Peter the Rock
The foundation of the Church

God did not mind
Saul ‘as he then was’
The greatest persecutor of our Lord
But God changed him
And he became Paul, the greatest Apostle


And God did not mind me
A wretched sinful me
He sent Jesus our Lord
To cleanse me and set me free
I am no longer the old me
I became a new me!
