Oh evil, rear not your ugly head
like a serpent that devours it's prey
you swallow all that is decent
and spit out discontent

You are the slayer of life, not alone
but of hearts and minds as well
nay do I fear thee and cast thee back
into the sullen bowels of hell.

Upon my head I wear The Helmet of Salvation
in that my mind is sharp and clear
and The Breastplate of Righteousness
shall guard my heart from pain and fear

The Belt of Truth secures my waist
that which keeps me firm and strong
and upon my feet, The Readiness
should there be need to call upon

In one hand I clutch The Shield of Faith
which repels hells arrows of flame
and in the other, The Sword of The Spirit
Thy Word of God's Holy Name

Oh evil rear not your ugly head
lest I shall severe it where you stand
for I am The Ancient Warrior
under Jesus Christ's command
