Thank God For My Enemies

If it were not for enemies how on earth would I know what friends were. Look at Jesus, He even knew His enemy would betray Him, but still Judas(the enemy) was one of the twelve disciples. Sometimes we need enemies around us just to show them God is totally, ultimately in control. If it were not for enemies how would we know the sweet taste of victory through Christ Jesus when we defeat them over and over. Look at Moses He needed Pharoah(the enemy) to prove to the people a demostration of God's power and glory, so that they could be delievered. And think about it, if it were not for our enemies, how would our faith mature and grow up if some of our enemies had not gotten in the way? So, I say thank God for enemies they helped me become all I can be through Christ who strengthens me.

Very creative idea to thank God for one's enemies. You have presented this in a compelling way to show us why having enemies is a good thing and the comparisons you made with Jesus/Judas and Moses/Pharaoh bring home to us how God uses His power to triumph over evil on the believer's behalf. I enjoyed this short but important message.

It can be difficult to thank God for our enemies at times, to turn the other cheek when we're being slapped in the face. And to think... Jesus even told us to LOVE them and pray for them! Amazing, this Agape love thing. :::smile::: (I don't have FW's private messenger.)

Yes indeed. Very wise.
Enemies hurt us, but Jesus Christ is victor over all evil. Someday all tears from everything painful will be wiped from our eyes.
Even now I experience tears wiped dry from old experiences. Praise our wonderful Creator and Master, Parent, loving God!!
We know the difference in good and evil, we know that Jesus has overcome and defeated that which is dark and painful.
Be blessed in Him today!
