I give you a new name.
No longer are you desolate and forsaken,
Deserted, joyless, lifeless and Barren;
But from now you are Hephzibah,
My Delight is in Her.
You shall be married, Beulah,
My choice, the remembered, the Eden of God.

I give you a new name.
No longer are you Simon,
hearing yet a reed, shaky and flaky.
You're now Peter, the Rock
And upon this Rock I will build My Church.
The gates of hell shall not prevail against it.(Matt16:18)
Therefore be not afraid of their faces. (Jer.1:8,17)
I shall make your face like a flint.
You shall be an iron pillar,
A bronze wall and a fortified city. (Jer.1:18)
You shall destroy, devastate and overthrow.
You shall uproot, supplant and plant,
Build, establish and gather.

I give you a new name.
You're no longer Abram but Abraham.
Father of many nations,
Father of the household of faith.
And Sarai, you'll now be Sarah,
From you will come kings and nations. Gen.17
I will give you more than double for your trouble.

I give you a new name.
You shall no longer be Jacob,
The schemer, supplanter, deceiver,
Full of treachery, the con man.
You shall now be Israel,
Conqueror, winner,
Prince with God and man.
You may limp but it is for your good.

I give you a new name
Which will bring you real fame,
Through the Name above every other name.
You shall no longer be Saul.
From today, you're Paul.
You'll witness to the great and small.
That is your holy high call.
You will rise, even when you fall.
You will not be like the other Saul,
Who lost his crown, besides all.
