Out of the cocoon my soul did soar
to heights of a better life
when once it laid, hopelessly waiting
to get beyond, bitterness and strife
Held in time full of hurts and banishment
wondering if it would ever end
nights would have told, the many sad stories
that my poor heart longed to rescind
Days of tears through long spent years
not any comfort was ever in sight
but, then one day there came a way
to bring, my life some light
a visit from a Savior of lost souls
came and beckoned to my heart
and he moved the fears and doubts within
and that gave me a brand new start
I left my cocoon with joy and hope
no more bondage of living in fear
He touched my broken heart, through and through
and now I have better years
The shackles were loosed and cast behind
and every wound the Lord did heal
it made me want, to laugh and smile again
and now it's much easier to feel
This loving Savior so full of grace and mercy
a life fixer he became to me
and now I can fly above the clouds
because he had set me free
We don't have to live a life of torment
and carry those loads each day
for there is hope for all our tomorrow's
when we open ourselves to find a way
Cry within your heart so God can feel
release your tears upon his face
be open to him about all your pains
and allow him to have the room and space
so that he can mend the hurts within
let him bandage up, every hidden scar
just give him a chance to free your soul
and break down every built up bar
I no longer live in bitterness and hate
I have looked beyond the pain
and I thank the Lord for taking the time
in undoing what had me chained
