It is a sad when a person feels there is no one to turn to
They feel lost.....angry.....depressed
No one to tell their troubles too
They feel alone and regress

Dark thoughts seep into their mind
Thoughts of sadness and death
Fear of a returning demon
That may take away their breath

Every ache and every pain
Bring thoughts that survival may be out of reach
That one day the news will not be good
Once again the dark realm is breeched

That the demon you fought so hard to beat
Comes roaring back to try
To once again consume your life
This demon that wants you to die

The truth is you are not alone
The feelings are real
But God has delivered you
And the demon cannot kill

Help comes only when you have the courage to ask
The courage to say you feel defeated
That you feel vulnerable
That you feel empty and mistreated

The fear you feel having been to the door of death
Cannot be understood by those who haven’t been there
But there are family and friends here for you
That really, really care

Let down your guard for just a little while
So the world can see the real you
So those around you can understand
Why you do the things you do

Somewhere inside that tough exterior
There is a soul and spirit filled with life
Not the hardened and darkened heart
Who's words cut like a knife

There is life beyond a tragic illness
Otherwise you would not be here
God has sent your guardian angel
And that angels always near

But that beautiful life cannot be yours
Unless you let go of the old
And step out into the light
Stronger than ever and oh so bold

You must move forward my friend
You’ve been given a second chance
To raise your child to live and love
Another chance to dance

If you reach out, He will take your hand
He will dry away your tears
And stay with you throughout your life
No matter how many years

There is life after cancer
It is a true miracle and a gift
So take advantage of your time
And your spirit He will lift

Your sun has not set
