Many of us are having issues with our children. Regardless of race or economical status, issues are similar. I have developed and worked in alternative, inner-city, schools. I have taught in the suburbs.
I have a seven year old. She is a smart, beautiful little girl with a lot of attitude. It frustrates me. I know I am teaching her right from wrong, telling her what God does/doesn't like. We pray about it everynight.
But, as soon as I walk away, I have attitude with my husband. I have finally realized, she is mimmicking what she sees.
-I'll tell her to hang up her coat, but mine is on the couch.
-I'm telling her she doesn't need sweets..... I'm eating a candy bar.
-I'll tell her to turn off the T.V. and read a book, while I watch my favorite show.
Are we leading by example? We know we are visual-beings. Are you practicing, what you preach?
