She went into the doctor's office concerned about one lump. That was nothing, but they found one elsewhere on her body. They told her that something was wrong - that bulge may be cancerous. They sent her off, with a quick clinical note about an x-ray. Like a gust of wind, she could feel the presence of fear float by her shoulder. Rose Parks. She was as tired as Rosa Parks. She was not trying to word curse herself into insomnia, but honestly, she was tired of the tenacious tactics.

A second wind came along. It touched her other shoulder. It was the wind of God's presence. As if she had a plastic bag in her hand, she grabbed that wind tightly - so tightly it could've burst. She held on. Jacob. She was as determined as Jacob to not let go and to not let go and to not let go. She did not jump ahead to the worst case scenario, but she did ask the nurse about the possibilities. She did not look to the past, but for revelation of any hidden sin. She held on in the present to God's presence.

The doctor called. "It is not cancerous, but you can get a second opinion." Good enough, she thought. click. I have a second opinion and He says not to worry.

I felt a strong wind today, the kind that would've made Rosa Parks sit. I felt another wind today, the kind that could make Jacob hold on. I'll take the second wind.
